Adi Haslam Bin Abdullah the prolific professional racer has ventured in almost every form of Motorsports imaginable in the country. From a Superbike Rider to a Motorcar Driver, Motocross Rider & Go-Kart Driver and lately when hampered with injury where most people would retire for good, Adi Haslam has yet proven once again that with sheer guts and determination, one can succeed in life, and thus got himself involved in Go-Kart racing.
Participation is one thing but winning championship is another. Being denied of the chance to race professionally in the Go Kart series, by not being granted a competitive license, Adi Haslam preserved and never gives up trying. Until in early 2005 the competitive ruling body relented, and granted him the license after almost 5 years of trying starting from year 2000.
With the competitive license in hand, Adi Haslam immediately proves the skeptics wrong by winning races after races in year 2005, finishing 4th . Overall in his very first major professional racing venture.
By year 2006, Adi Haslam is ready. All the years of training and determination finally paid off as in 2006 he emerged 2nd overall in the Malaysian KKS Championship and the Overall champion in the much acknowledged ROK Championship.
After being the undisputed Champion of the Malaysian Go-Kart Series, Adi Haslam was invited to participate in the World Invitational meet in Italy vis-à-vis the ROK World Go Kart Final, as well as the Asian Open Kart Race Final in Macau. But because of the lack of sponsorship, Adi Haslam’s dream of being the first disable person to compete in the World Series was shattered.
In year 2007, Adi Haslam hope that his luck will once again shine and aspire to repeat his unbeaten run in 2006 to emerge as the Malaysian Go-Kart King. With that and perhaps with more recognition on his ability now, would be able to do the country proud by being the first Malaysian disable person to participate in the World Championship.
The stories of courage and bravery have always been an inspiration to all of us…
How in the face of huge adversity these extraordinary individuals have managed to overcome seemingly impossible odds to reach their goal. For their refusal to give in to the elements that stands unflinchingly still in their way; for their inherent tenacity and determination and for the exceptional superhuman qualities that they seemed to possess…

My first experience at the Fuji Speedway track was quite nervous for me as I have to learn in handling the Kart for the first time and as well I need to learn the circuit. I was shivering as the weather is very cold. With only 20 minutes time given to me for the official practice for the grid position, I only managed to do 3 practice laps because I need to adjust the tuning accordingly to my style of driving .
Despite the problem I faced during the official practice session, I still managed to get 17 grid position out of 22 karts. With the very tough and challenging Fuji Speedway circuit, the spectators came to quite an excitement seeing me managed to overtook all karts and before the first turn I was already at 5th position.
But again the luck wasn’t with me as I starts facing problem with tuning during the race. My kart started to give me problems as it was misfiring and that make me a bit difficult to compete with the others.
However the first time experience at the Fuji Speedway Circuit will give me a very good memory. With that, I hope to get good sponsors for me to compete in the 5 round superkart race at various circuits in Japan for whole season next year.

After 30 over years experiences in motorsoports, i.e: motorcycle racing, car racing, motocross and go-kart, I’m still drifting in the offline world until recently a friend suggested me to reveal my experiences online. So here it goes my newly develop blog that will features the good, the bad and the ugly stories of my career in the motorsports.
As my first posting I have nothing much to say yet because I’m still figuring how and where to kick off. But for the new visitors who haven’t known me yet, I have race motorcycle, car, motocross and go-kart locally and internationally.
The good times are where you get good sponsors and finished podium. The bad times are where you are running out of cash to run in the race beside other pity petty things that crops out last minute.
Last but not least the ugly…! Yes…the ugliest thing happen in my life…I’m now semi-paralyzed after the table top jump in the Motocross Championship in 1997. I will write in details of that tragedy in my next posting.
